Upcoming events

First up is the Eastbourne Masters Gala - taking place at the Sovereign Centre on Sunday 15th May - it's a sprint gala with 50m and 100m races in all strokes plus 100m IM and relays.  Entry form is here.

Next are two open water events also in Eastbourne, taking place over the weekend of 23rd/24th July.  The first is the Sussex Open Water 5K event which also incorporates the County and Regional Open Water Championships.  Then on the Sunday is the Eastbourne 2K sea swim.  Entry forms for these are also here and here.

The date for Brighton Pier To Pier has been revealed as Saturday 16th July but I can't find any more info on this as yet.

These events are all non-wetsuit and you need to be Category 2 registered for all these events - a temporary membership form is attached here also (however off the record I'm not sure how thoroughly they check if you just put your regular ASA number down).

Also coming up over the course of 2011 is a series of open water events hosted by Human Race.  The races are as follows:
Eton Dorney (the Olympic rowing venue) - 28th May: 750m, 1500m, 3km, 10km!
Windsor - 3rd July: 750m, 1500m, 3km
Hampton Court - 17th July: a 3650m point to point swim in the Thames
Marlow - 21st August: 750m, 1500m, 3km
Poole - 11th September: 750m, 1500m, 3km
Wetsuit and non wetsuit waves apply in these races.  Full details of these races can be found here:

A little bit closer to home the Brighton Sports Company (formerly Metaphor Events) are once again hosting two races in Brighton:
Brighton Beach Swim - Saturday 2nd July: 1km open water swim race (last year this event featured separate wetsuit and non-wetsuit competitions within the same race).
Brighton Beach Aquathlon - Sunday 17th July: a swim heavy aquathlon featuring an 800m swim, 5k run and another 400m swim.
